The sheet mulching process worked so well that the team decided to completely smother the few remaining lawn spaces within Wild Wonder Garden property lines. We are expanding the garden into the sidewalk verge, and also completely eliminating the small Japanese Knotweed strand located at the rear end of the property.
The garden continues to become lusher with every coming growing season, and informational plaques are often loss in the ocean of flowers. We plan to plant clearly established groupings of same species on the sidewalk verge to move plaques to a more permanent location that is easier to curate. Additionally, when the Japanese Knotweed population has been sufficiently controlled, we expect to install shade-tolerant plants and another bench since large, towering oak trees shade the area.
